Firefly

Organic Indian Black Tea, Tumsong, Darjeeling

The first thing we noticed with this tea was the abundance of colors in the tightly rolled leaves (in India, leaves rolled in this way are called BPS - Broken Pekoe Souchong). Firefly is from the Tumsong estate, situated at an altitude of about 4,500 feet in Darjeeling. When brewed, the liquor is a bright amber, and the aroma characteristically Darjeeling muscatel (reminiscent of the Muscat grape). Slightly nutty and fruity, it is also exceptionally smooth. The complex flavors come alive when enjoyed without any additives. Enjoy hot or iced.

Tumsong Estate is Certified Bio-Organic.

An excellent darjeeling with floral notes that are pronounced but not overpowering. A perfect afternoon cup.

What a beautiful tea

I take my pouch of Firefly everywhere I go now - to work, on planes, to restaurants. It is easily one of the most delicious teas around. I've had Darjeeling tea before, but mostly the tea bag kind. This tea is fruity and the color is to die for. Leaves a good aftertaste in your mouth when you're done drinking. I spoil myself with 7 or 8 cups a day!

Excellent Darjeeling Tea

Thank you. I am very new to loose tea and this site inspired me to try some. This is an absolute treat. I'm going to throw out all my old Lipton tea bags now and start experimenting with loose leaf tea!

Margaret's Hope is my favorite

I think anything produced in Margaret's Hope tea estate is good. This one surprised me with its flavor. Nice liquor and solid finish. A best buy in my opinion.

Good tea

I think I prefer Assams

Follow up

Aug 17, 2006 by: Abe, Chicago, IL 5

A follow up to my previous comment - try this tea with a slice of lemon. Make sure you don't add milk and sugar to this. The delicate flavor will be ruined if you do.

The best

I really enjoyed this tea. What's with the name? It sounds rather exotic! Great looking leaves too.
